About the Role
We seek an experienced Drilling Superintendent to strategically manage drilling operations across multiple sites. The role involves oversight of drilling plans, managing contractor relationships, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of drilling and well testing operations in line with technical programs (HPHT and conventional wells) and HSE standards, and mentorship of operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Management & Planning
- Oversee simultaneous management of multiple drilling projects.
- Approve and ensure adherence to drilling schedules.
- Participate to high-level relationships with service contractors
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising safety or quality
- Operational Oversight & Technical Expertise
- Serve as primary technical expert during complex operational incidents (e.g., severe stuck pipe, lost circulation).
- Conduct regular NPT analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Personnel Management & Development
- Lead the drilling supervising department, clearly defining roles for senior specialists, supervisors, and mentoring junior specialists.
- Manage staff development, evaluating and facilitating career progression.
- Coordinate rotational work schedules (28 days on/off).
- Reporting & Analytical Responsibilities
- Provide regular reports to senior management detailing operational progress, risk assessments, and KPI achievement.
- Maintain and utilize the “Lessons Learned” database for continuous improvement.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 10 years in drilling operations, with at least 5 years in senior supervisory or superintendent roles
- Proven expertise managing multiple drilling projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical decision-making during operational challenges.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and operational oversight capabilities
- Working knowledge of English and Russian (Uzbek is an advantage)
Preferred (Advantageous) Qualifications
- Prior experience managing HPHT (high-pressure, high-temperature) drilling operations
- Prior experience in drilling operations within Uzbekistan or Central Asia region
- Working knowledge of Uzbek language
Working Conditions & Practical Information:
- Position involves regular travel to drilling sites.
- Work location: Uzbekistan-based operations.
